Vacation for Enzo's 7th Birthday to Cape San Blass Florida with the Roehmer clan!
Back to where we love to go! Roatan Honduras with the Johnston family and our friends Doc and Mark. A spectacular week amongst friends
Our 8 day trip back to the U.S. didn't start as planned, as Enzo woke on the morning of our departure with a fever and lacking sleep from the previous night's "all-nighter" sleepover for Kelum's 7th birthday bash. Nonetheless, we were off to the Cancun airport departing to Denver where we would stay for 4 days with Trisha in the mountains of Silverthorn, near the ski resorts of Keystone and Breckenridge. After some skiing and some R&R in the cold of Denver, we would leave to go to Phoenix to see the Super Bowl and visit with friends.
Flying all day from Cancun to Denver, via Dallas was a bit cumbersome with a sick kid, but thank God Enzo was a trooper and never complained. He slept on both flights, only required the air sickness bag once and Kristin and I were treated to complimentary Adult Beverages from the super-nice flight attendants.

Arriving to Denver Airport we would be picked up by Sister Trisha and then off for the 1.5 hour drive to Silverthorne. Trisha has a beautiful house and is only minutes from some of the best ski resorts in Colorado. We arrived late in the night and after a couple of good night beverages and hot shower we were off to bed.
After a leisurely morning we packed the gear in the truck and headed of to Keystone Resort to see what the week would have in store for us. Enzo just appreciated playing in the snow and Kristin and I were just happy to sit for a couple of hours, do some people watching and enjoy some great micro-brew beers

On Wednesday Enzo joined another 20 or so kids for Keystone Ski School, while Kristin and Trisha enjoyed yet another day on the slopes!
So now we are off to Scottsdale, Arizona. Time for Super Bowl 49 between the Patriots and Enzo's favorite team, the Seahawks! We spent the week there at our great friends house, Doc Stacey, who albeit was not there the first few days, we did greatly enjoy the company of her parents who were in town visiting from Minnesota.
Of course, in preparation for the Big Game, there was plenty of shopping to do beforehand, especially to replenish our clothing stock for Mexico. But first, time to get our tickets from Ken Derrett, who is the President of the San Diego Chargers. We met Ken at the Biltmore hotel, which on it's own is always a treat. During the Super Bowl, this is where all of the team executives and celebrities stay for the big game. And as soon as we pull up, it's Mr Jerry Jones and his travel bus; truly a highlight alone for Enzo and I.

But before the big game on Sunday, there was still plenty of things to do before hand. Most importantly, the NFL experience, which I would recommend to anyone! This is a huge showcase in downtown Phoenix that is put on by the NFL and the city of Phoenix in preparation for the Super Bowl.
The NFL experience spans several blocks in the heart of Phoenix and occupies the entire downtown convention center. We did the smart thing and took the new light rail system into downtown, a downtown like I had never seen it. It was packed! Every single Seahawks and Patriots fan were walking the streets, filled the bars and restaurants and took in some awesome live music.
Oh yeah...and there is the PGA tournament in Scottsdale. And a visit to the Waste Management Open of 2015 was a must for us. Walking the course in the beautiful sunshine and immaculate course of the TPC, we saw lots of our favorite golfers and Enzo got to give old friend, Harris English, another fist pump between holes! Spectacular course!
And afterwards, it was our turn to play some golf! Off we went to TopGolf in Scottsdale. Family and friends, we enjoyed our relaxing evening of Top Golf!
